Micro Maintenance (M3) Aircraft Batteries

MarathonNorco’s Micro Maintenance (M3) Aircraft Batteries are improved low-maintenance Nickel-Cadmium batteries that supply reliable power for large commercial aircraft, regional aircraft, military aircraft, corporate aircraft, and helicopters. M3 batteries are FAA-PMA approved for many aircraft models and are offered in sizes ranging from 17 to 75 ampere-hours. They are interchangeable with existing batteries, allowing you to easily upgrade to a low-maintenance aircraft battery without aircraft modifications. The M3 Battery can also be serviced with your existing battery shop equipment.

The M3 Battery utilizes the latest Polymer Bonded Electrode (PBE) negative electrode technology to ensure optimized performance and dependability. Today’s PBE technology, pioneered by MarathonNorco decades ago, has been refined to provide greatly reduced maintenance costs. Compared with a standard nickel-cadmium aircraft battery, this technology delivers reduced water consumption, faster recharge, and greater energy density. This results in longer flight hours between servicing, increased capacity retention, and fast, cooler engine starts.

SuperPower Aircraft Batteries

The rechargeable vented Nickel-Cadmium Aircraft Batteries are widely used for engine starting and emergency power in commercial, corporate, and military aircraft – both fixed-wing and rotary. They also supply power for military weapons, ground vehicles, medical devices, and telecommunications equipment.

The SuperPower Aircraft Battery product line is engineered to provide maximum power for engine and APU starting applications. MarathonNorco Aerospace pioneered the development of sintered plates and was the first to use Bunsen vent valves on nickel-cadmium cells as well as the first to manufacture hermetically-sealed nickel-cadmium cells.

Sintered plates feature improved woven-wire substrates that are stronger, blemish-free, and offer lower resistance. Exclusive high heat-resistant polypropylene separator material extends battery life and enhances high-rate performance at extreme temperatures. Additionally, heavy-gauge connectors, large terminals, and heavy-duty screws ensure superior conductivity for reliable and robust performance in demanding environments.
